October Attractions in the Treasure Valley and Magic Valley

Each year it can be hard to keep track of the jam-packed month of October. Don’t fret! Here’s a list of ongoing activities and main attractions happening in the fun-filled weeks of October:

Mazes, Walks & Pumpkin Patches

Scarecrow Stroll, Boise

The Botanical Gardens is all dressed up and ready for the fall season with scarecrows! There are various other events happening in the next month including a bird nature walk on November 1! For more events and information: www,idahobotanicalgarden.org.

Zoo Boise

The Zoo Boise has two Halloween events in October. The Spooktacular (Oct. 10-12 & 17-19) offers fun especially for the little ones along with Boo at the Zoo (Oct. 25) with prizes and candy and characters. See events here: www.zooboise.org.

Farmstead, Meridian

For more corn maze fun in Meridian, Farmstead offers a Wizard of Oz designed corn maze along with the Field of Screams, open Friday and Saturday nights in October. You can also visit their pumpkin patch, enjoy hayrides, and explore the huge “creature” you might have seen driving I-84 East. Check out more here: www.farmsteadfestival.com.

Linder Farms, Meridian

This year Linder Farms is continuing the tradition of dedicating their design to Boise State football. Attractions include a family-friendly corn maze, Trail of Terror, hay rides, pumpkin patch, and rides like a mechanical bull. Find out more information here: www.linderfarms.com.

Jeremy’s Pumpkins, Star

Jeremy’s Pumpkins is a sweet family pumpkin business that started as a college fund and now 25 years later they continue to grow (both in business and in produce)! See their Facebook for updates: here.

CSI Corn Maze, Twin Falls

The College of Southern Idaho has opened their 12th annual corn maze. The maze is grown and managed by the Horticulture Club and this year they are announcing a much taller and thicker maze than years previous. More information here: www.csi.edu.

Scares & Thrills

Haunted Trolley Tours, Boise

Starting October 10th, tour haunted locations in Boise by a Halloween-decorated trolley! Visit their website to see times and prices: www.americanheritagetrolleytours.com.

Old Penitentiary, Boise

Always a thrill to visit, the Penitentiary is especially spooky this time of year. On Halloween, check out their Frightened Felons event on Oct. 31 & Nov. 1 with games, prizes, and contests. See it here: www.history.idaho.gov.

Haunted World, Caldwell

The Haunted World in Caldwell is promoted as the largest outdoor haunted attraction in the Northwest including 3 separate scare-filled activities. In October, the Haunted World is open every night besides Sunday. Prepare yourself here: www.hauntedworld.org.

Haunted Swamp, Twin Falls
