It’s going down at the State of the City!

Hold on tight, we’re recapping the Meridian State of the City Address.

Meridian State of the City

Meridian has been receiving many national recognitions from safest city, to best city to live and work in. We may be biased but CBH couldn’t agree more and are so proud to be apart of the Meridian community. Mayor Tammy rocked the stage at the State of the City on Wednesday afternoon and brought lots of laughter from the croud with this:

What is CBH Homes most excited to hear and talk about? We’re so excited about all of the growth happening in Meridian, here were our BIG 3 Takeaways:

STRATEGIC GROWTH:

Good growth fuels a city. With a fastly growing population, it’s imperative that the City continues to plan for growth. From utilities to parks, their goal is to enhance the vision for the city and properly plan. The residents of Meridian ranked roads and education as their highest priorities for the city. What can you expect to see in 2018? Mayor Tammy will continue to bring awareness and  push for the upcoming West Ada School District bond and levy that will address over-crowding and class sizes. Following that, if all goes well, commuters can look forward to improvements and widening of Chinden from Locust Grove to McDermott.

ECONOMIC VIBRANCY:

Let’s bring on the jobs. Meridian has 43,529 jobs, an unemployment rate of 2.7%, and welcomed 2,800 NEW JOBS in 2017. Did you know that CBH Homes is hiring? Click here to see the new career opportunities! On top of that, The Village at Meridian is expanding, Ten Mile Crossing is attracting more businesses and entertainment options are booming. All of that and this, Idaho’s first medical school, ICOM, has been accredited and will be opening. If you think that you need a change or new career, Meridian is the place for you.

ARTS, CULTURE, AND RECREATION:

This might have been our favorite part. Jobs and growth are great, but let’s talk about the fun stuff! A hot topic is the Hill. Located near the intersection of South Eagle and West Amity Road, we will soon be welcoming a hub of education, recreation, and wellness with the new YMCA, a public library and of course a park. Don’t miss the pathway updates as Meridian works to connect and grow the 5 Mile Creek Pathway. Roaring Springs is improving their kiddie pool and Wahooz is creating a Galaxy Event Center to hold 600 people.
